COURT ORDERS BUHARI TO PAY $3.25 MILLION TO BOKO HARAM MEMBERS


An international court, the court of the Economic Community of West African States, has ruled against the Federal Republic of Nigeria regarding extra judicial killing and injuring of certain Boko Haram members.
The case was decided by a three-judge panel led by Judge Friday Chijioke Nwoke. According
to the ruling, Nigeria was found liable for the “barbaric, illegal and unconstitutional” deaths and injuries of Boko Haram members.

The court ordered the government to pay a compensation of $200,000 to the families of each man killed and $150,000 to each of those wounded. Soldiers and Secret Service Agents killed eight Boko Haram members and wounding 11 others in Abuja on September 20 the, 2013.

Female tourist raped in Qatar fined £582 & given a suspended jail sentence for adultery

A 22-year-old Dutch tourist who was drugged and raped by a stranger in Qatar has been given a suspended jail sentence for adultery.

According to her lawyer, Brian Lokollo, she was on holiday with a friend and went out for drinks at a hotel bar in the Qatari capital on March 15.

Niger Delta Avengers issues ‘Final warning’ to seven Nigerian Governors

 

The Niger Delta Avengers has issued what it called “last warning’ to seven state governors to free pro-Biafran activists being held in police and military custodies in their states.

This is contained in a statement signed by the group’s spokesperson, Mudoch Agbinibo.
The new militant group, which has vowed to bring Nigeria’s oil production to zero, has given 72 hours to the governors to free Biafran agitators.

Governor Gaidam of Yobe State Pays N2.5m medical bill of baby born with heart outside chest wall

Governor of Yobe State Ibrahim Gaidam has foot the N2.5 million bill urgently needed to undertake surgical operation on baby Aisha Mustapha, born nine days ago at Goni Gori village with her heart outside her chest wall. UEFA kicks out England & Russia from EURO 2016 because of fans' violence

England and Russia have been warned they face Euro 2016 disqualification if their fans continue with violent acts after Russian fans fought with English fans after Saturday's 1-1 draw.

UEFA has charged Russia and England with 'crowd disturbances, racist behaviour and setting off fireworks' while star player Wayne Rooney and England coach Roy Hodgson have pleaded with English fans to stay calm during the Euro tournament in France.

Finally Militant Group, MEND, says it is ready to dialogue with FG, name members of its negotiation team



The Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), says they are ready to dialogue with the Federal government to bring an end to the hostilities in the Niger Delta region. According to The Nation, the group said this in a statement released by its Spokesman, Gbomo Jomo today Monday June 13th.
